The London DMEK Course is a new state of the art course that gives surgical trainees tips and tricks about the main steps of DMEK surgery.
The London DMEK Course is an A to Z course of DMEK surgery, suitable for those who are not confident in DMEK surgery, or those who are about to start cornea fellowships. There are multiple experienced instructors to work with surgeons of different levels (consultants or trainees).
The London DMEK Course is a heavily practical course, meaning there will be hands on training on cornea tissue to build your skills and confidence in DMEK surgery. It will also involve live DMEK surgery for a real life observation of how to navigate DMEK surgery challenges.

The Course is composed of instructional training (see below), hands on training with DMEK tissue (including DMEK peels and unfolding DMEK tissue), and observation of live surgery.

DMEK unfolding 30mins: DMEK injection and unfolding: Tapping Method DMEK injection and unfolding: Alternate Method (Melles, Price Methods, side cannula injection) , gas sf6 vs air Phaco DMEK
Managing complications 30mins: Complications of injection and unfolding Rebubble management, postop management, PI, pupil block
Complex DMEK 30mins: Complex cases in DMEK Intraoperative complications
DMEK special cases 30mins: DMEK in PKP eyes, GDD, vitrectomised/aphakic eyes Femto DMEK
